Dutch Nationals


Irish Short Course Champion and Ulster Senior Record Holder Conor Brines travels to Eindhoven today to compete for Larne SC in the Dutch Nationals.

Conor is racing his main events, the 50 & 100 Fly and will be looking to build on the incredible progress he has made over the last 6 month setting new Ulster Senior records multiple times in theae events.

In 2016 the SwimCup will be the biggest sporting event in the Netherlands in April.

A lot of national and international elite athletes will take part in this event.

The level of the participating swimmers will be extremely high.
World and Olympic champion swimmers will compete in securing an Olympic qualification for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

This Olympic edition will consist of five competition days instead of the regular four.

Heats will start at 12.00, B-finals at 19.00 and A-finals at 21.00.




100 Fly

A sold morning swim of 56.0 saw Conor finish in 17th place just missing out on a semi final

50 Fly

A heat swim of 24.8 was enough to qualify for the A final in 6th place. Conor improved this to 24.74 to remain in 6th place overall.
