Larne finished the event the same way as they started – achieving 1st place points for all Freestyle Relay events.

AquaSprint v Olympia

Larne kicked off their third Aquasprint of the season against Olympia Swimming Club at the Falls Road Leisure Centre in the blistering sunshine.

The absence of diving blocks certainly did not affect the performance of the swimmers, with the final scores being 170 to Olympia and 230 to Larne!

A massive congratulations to all swimmers who swam their hearts out and had great fun. It is very pleasing to see a fantastic team spirit surrounding the entire group.

A special thank you to Olympia Swimming Club for being terrific hosts, as well as all the volunteers for their commitment to running a successful event.

Back to racing at last

After what seems like an eternity without competitive swimming for the majority of our club, we finally got our first taste of racing today.

The lucky guys to represent #teamlarne in this first outing where competing in the rebranded future challenger series run b y Swim Ulster.

This is a series of 4 meets that will run over the course of the season and serves as a nice introduction to competitive swimming.

This 1st meet was hosted in the new pool in craigavon and I think we all agree it is a great facility and a pleasure to be able to race there.

A huge congratulations to every swimmer as they all posted Personal Best times in every event!

Annabella Cole, Megan O Mahony and Lucy Maxwell got the ball rolling in the 100 IM, Annabella placing 3rd and Megan 8th.

Ciaran Laverty fired off a huge 23 second PB in the 200 free just missing out on a top 10 finish

Bronwyn Soule and Katy Meharg both swam to top 20 places in 200 Free while Isaac Prince and Maddy McDowell has similar results in the 100.

Francois Du Plessis, in his 1st outing for Larne, and Connor Sidwell showed some good skills in the 50 free

Annabella just missed out on top spot on the 50 finishing 2nd and she was joined in the top 10 by Megan O Mahoney. Grace Kelly , Lucy Maxwell Rachel Urwin and Mia Duddy made up the 6 girls contesting this event for the club.

Ciaran was back in action in the 100 IM where he was joined by Lewis Hughes, Bronwyn and Katy.

It is fantastic to see our members getting back into the racing pool again and the coaches where all delighted with how everyone performed.

This is just the start of the season and I cannot wait to see how far you all can go.

Back to training and working on the skills that the coaches are teaching you so that next time we can see event better swimming

well done everyone
